It all started August 1st 1950. I was born in Leeds maternity hospital.
At the time my parents lived in a basement flat on Roundhay Road.
Before I became aware of anything my parents moved to an old house in Dewsbury.
Here I had the coal hole adventure, the dressing table
mirror aventure, the fire in the meat safe adventure and the old fire
place adventure. All before the age of four. There may have been others that I can't remember I'll
have to ask my brothers.
Oh yes that reminds me I have brothers and parents. Mom and Dad that's Helen and Edgar
Oldroyd. My elder brother John who is 16 months older than I and
lives on the island of Colensey in Scotland. Then there is a younger
brother Jim who is 16 months younger than I and lives in Rothwell near
Leeds. And finnally there is Peter who is 8 years younger than I and lives in Leeds.
